Representative Roles and Responsibilities

 

These are Board appointed positions held by members for a single year term, and up to three consecutive terms.

 

Member Representative(s)

  1. Is a volunteer position requiring a commitment of at least 7-10 hours of work per month.  

  2. Is a member of VATA.

  3. Will act as a liaison between VATA and the Art Therapy Community.

  4. Is expected to participate in monthly board meetings (No less than 75% of the time) and maintain regular contact with the board regarding meetings, board related business, and VATA events.  

  5. Will participate in community outreach events and/or VATA sponsored events (VATA board representatives may be asked to lead an event committee)

  6. Support Director of Membership in dissemination of information about membership and VATA events to the Art Therapy Community.

  7. Support VATA in recruiting new members and act as an advocate for the membership body as needed

  8. Member Representative(s) will be appointed by the Board

  9. Member Representative(s) will be mentored by the Director of Membership

 

Social Media Representative(s)

  1. Is a volunteer position requiring a commitment of at least 7-10 hours of work per month.

  2. Is a member of VATA

  3. Expected to participate in monthly board meetings (No less than 75% of the time) and maintain regular contact with the board regarding meetings, board related business, and VATA events.  

  4. Will participate in community outreach events and/or VATA sponsored events (VATA board representatives may be asked to lead an event committee)

  5. Supports the Secretary, as the director of Social Media, in promotion of VATA news and events through social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, wordpress, and LinkedIn, Website.

  6. Will Contribute to blog posts on the topic of art therapy, art therapy practice, art therapy research etc once monthly.

  7. Will help with the design of newsletters and other published materials distributed by VATA.

  8. Social Media Representative will be appointed by the board.

  9. Social Media Representative will be mentored by the Secretary/Director of Social Media.

Student Representative(s)

  1. Is a volunteer position requiring a commitment of at least 7-10 hours of work per month.  

  2. Is a member of VATA and is a student in good standing at an Art Therapy program in Virginia.

  3. Will act as a liaison between VATA and the Virginia Art Therapy Student Community (to include and not limited to identified VATA Student Liaisons).

  4. Expected to participate in monthly board meetings (No less than 75% of the time) and maintain regular contact with the board regarding meetings, board related business, and VATA events.  

  5. Support VATA in recruiting new members and act as an advocate for the student body as needed

  6. Will participate in community outreach events and/or VATA sponsored events (VATA board representatives may be asked to lead an event committee)

  7. Student Representative(s) will be appointed by the board.

  8.  Student Representatives will be mentored by the President and Vice President.
